Unleashing Your Highest Potential: Exploring Human Design as a Personal Development Tool

Personal growth and self discovery have been the cornerstone of my be-ing for as long as I can remember. I started out with Astrology as a kid, desperately wanting to understand others and understand myself as a teenager and my curiosity continued to evolve from there. In college, I got into Myers Briggs and Enneagram (touched a little on DISC, Ocean, and big 5) and saw how incredibly different I started to view the world. I learned about all the different types - that way I could really benchmark the unique attributes and decide if I truly identified with that type. It also helped me understand how other people operated when I could see how we all have different archetypes and roles in which we play. In my pursuit of personal growth and self-discovery, I stumbled upon one of the most powerful tools for self discovery + development that I can say is the closest thing that I’ve ever seen to a life instruction manual: the Human Design system.

The way I describe it simply is this: it’s your astrological birth chart on steroids. Human Design is a synthesis of various ancient wisdom traditions, including astrology, the I-Ching, the Kabbalah, quantum physics, and the chakra system, blended into one comprehensive system. It provides a personalized blueprint, revealing the unique energy configuration and potential of every person on the planet.

By delving into the depths of this complex system, I’ve been able to unlock profound insights into my true nature, how I am designed to meet life, how I am energetically wired to bond with others, how I learn, process, and integrate information, and how I am to use my energy body to make the most aligned decisions for my life. I have also been able to gain insight on my core fears, motivations, bring shadows aspects to light for integration, identify my life trajectory and even insights into my soul’s path and purpose. And there’s so, so much more. This is just the static aspect of it. With Human Design, it’s a living, multi-faceted program that’s ever changing. And that’s because it’s based on the influence of the planets. This is where Myers Briggs and Enneagram stop short and where Human Design can take over to help you understand yourself better and how the larger cycles of life influence our be-ing.

Now, before you assume this is too woo-woo, I promise you there is science behind it. I really try not to talk about anything unless I feel I can talk confidently about it and the reason for this post is because I absolutely can not stop talking about Human Design. I’ve spent hundreds and hundreds of hours over the last three years in deep study - both personally and experientially with clients and I realized that it has made it’s way into almost every conversation I have. Now when I interact with people, I can almost always tell “who they are” based off of how they speak and how they interact, and often times, the very vibe they give off. When I am invited to speak about human design or asked to do a design analysis, the response is always the same: spot on. In ways that will give you chills. When I first learned my design, my jaw dropped. I felt seen, I felt understood, and when I realized that my design structure makes up only 2% of the world’s population, it was in that moment that I finally understood why I always felt so different. It’s been validating. There’s a flawless structure to the framework yet it allows for creativity and experimentation. In fact, the whole Human Design system is an experiment. You’re supposed to experiment with your design and see what works best for you.

Knowing Yourself: One of the fundamental aspects of personal development is self-awareness. Human Design serves as a powerful tool for gaining a deeper understanding of your be-ing. By discovering your Human Design type - manifestor, generator, manifesting generator, projector, or reflector - you can gain insights into your innate qualities and how you interact with the world around you.

Unveiling Your Strengths: Human Design dives even deeper, highlighting your individual strengths and gifts. By understanding the specific attributes associated with your design, you can harness your natural talents and abilities. Whether it's exceptional leadership skills, creative flair, or a propensity for problem-solving, embracing these strengths empowers you to make aligned actions that have a significant impact in all areas of your life.

Aligning with Your Strategy and Authority: Human Design emphasizes the importance of living in alignment with your unique decision-making strategy and authority. Each type has a specific way to make decisions that resonate with their design. By honoring this strategy and authority, you can make choices that align with your true essence and lead you towards your highest potential.

Embracing Personal Growth: Human Design is not a static system; it evolves with your own personal growth journey. As you explore and integrate its teachings into your life, you gain a greater understanding of your shadows, challenges, and areas for growth. This knowledge enables you to transcend limitations, break free from conditioning, and continuously evolve into your most authentic self.

In the quest for self actualization, Human Design shines as an invaluable personal development tool. The power to reach your highest potential lies within you. Human Design is the skeleton key that unlocks the doors to a more fulfilling and purposeful existence. Learning your design can be a huge undertaking.
